The Wheelie

All you need to control the wheelchair is your face

The software can recognize facial movements such as a full smile, half smile, wrinkled nose, kissy face, tongue out or puffed-out cheeks and then assign those actions to drive the wheelchair forward, backward, turning left or right, or stopping it.

Full Round

The Wheelie running

This video presents the Wheelie detecting facial expressions in real-time using 3D technology and translating them into commands to control an Ottobock B400 motorized wheelchair. The mission scenario is to drive from the room A, passing through the corridor, overcoming its obstacles (that require precise turns and displacements) and getting back to the room A. In this round, the user took 18 expressions to complete the course in 2 minutes.
